Fun Factory Cobra Libre Review

Cobra Libre by Fun Factory is the first real vibrator for men. Two powerful motors stimulate the head of the penis. It looks futuristic and has touch controls to match.

The Cobra Libre is made out of hard plastic and pure silicone. It has capacitive touch controls for adjusting intensity(+/-), and on/off. It sports two independent motors for great stimulation. It is almost 7 inches (17.5 cm) in total length, 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide and about 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall. Insertable length is also around 3 inches (7.5 cm). Cobra Libre is rechargeable but comes without a charger unless specified otherwise.
Packaging

When I got this a couple of months back it came in a see through plastic clam-shell, wrapped in cardboard with the front and top fully exposed like the way many toy cars are packaged. Recently the packaging has been changed to a more simple cardboard box. Probably to keep things consistent with Fun Factory’s other product lines.

As mentioned it comes with the toy only. It uses Fun Factory’s Click ‘n’ charge system – and you need to get your own. Although many stores will supply one. Look closely at the description. I think it’s totally fine that it doesn’t include a charger as all Fun Factory toys use the same one. There’s no need to have multiple ones, and this keeps waste to a minimum as well as saving on packaging. It may feel frustrating paying for a charger when a toy is as costly as this one – but it would certainly increase the price if it was included.

Impression

This is a very different toy from what I am used to. Kudos to Fun Factory for coming up with something different for us guys. It is a bit hard to evaluate because of this, but I will try my best.

Firstly the toy is well-built and very sturdy. It is made of a quality hard plastic, and the “lips” are made of silicone. It fits good in the hand with a perfect grip, but you can also leave it alone during use if you prefer. Try to lie down with this resting on your belly.

To use, you simply lubricate yourself (only water based lubricant) and insert the head of the penis as far in as you can. It feels a bit awkward compared to other toys you stick your penis into – especially since it is very shallow. On the inside is has a steep curve to press the penis upwards and lock it in place. It does produce some vacuum which is nice. I would personally prefer a bit more space as I feel a kind of squashed when using it. However once you are properly inserted it stays in place very well.

You then turn it on with the horizontal indentation at the top. I roars like a car, it is really quite amusing. After the first show-off it settles on a low rumble.. You can adjust intensity with the parallel vertical indents (lets agree that down is towards the opening). The vibrations are very powerful and feels deep and rumbly. It’s a very different sensation than the normal stroking I am used to. But it’ nice and apparently effective. When it’s at the maximum intensity you may hold down the plus button for a second to change to pattern mode.

The pattens are very nice as the two independent motors do their own thing for something that feels like 3D movement. The motor at the front of the toy is a bit more rumbly and slightly out of sync with the other one. It has around 8 different pulsations and other patterns, but it is really hard to count them as it just cycles through them over and over. It’s just variations in how the two motors alternate, and it is very hard to tell them apart. I would wish for the ability to adjust intensity for pattens. But I suppose it is restricted because more than a couple of patterns escalates through the whole intensity spectrum.

Like I said this is a very different kind of toy. You just let it do its thing and the vibrations focused on the most sensitive area of the penis, on the back of the head. It is a toy that takes some time to make me climax, with a steady buildup. Even though at first I did not think it could do it for me.. It feels good. I sometimes feel the urge to thrust a bit, and it is possible, but not really that effective. I feel the vibrations are best felt when I leave the Cobra Libre alone on my belly. When it is held the vibrations gets kind of muffled. It is also way too easy to touch the controls when holding it. And the on/off section puts the toy back to the first setting by the smallest touch. It can get annoying after the fifth time.

I also prefer to have some hot porn handy when using this, as I am easily bored by the time it takes. This is definitely not suitable if you are looking for a quickie – unless you are very sensitive. The vibrations are reasonably quiet and can barely be heard through a closed door. If you place it on a hard surface however it crackles away quite intensely!

After a while you can get ready for an explosive orgasm. It gets more intense than with any other toy I have used. That’s a pleasant surprise. But this makes me wonder about the design. If you are going to cum inside this, the fluids comes flowing out almost instantly unless you tilt it. I would keep a towel nearby.

The toy can be used for about two hours on a charge, and use Fun Factory’s universal charger. It connects magnetically to the Fun logo on the front of the toy. It can be a bit fiddly as it has to align perfectly to take charge.. And the wire points downwards, so if you move the toy slightly it might disconnect. The new USB charger fixes this issue by changing the position of the plug/wire. The charger lights up when in operation, there is also a small light on the Cobra Libre itself that pulses when it is taking charge. Both lights turn off when it is ready to go, usually within a couple of hours. Did I mention it is waterproof as well?
Cleaning

It is simple to maintain a happy Cobra Libre – simply wash it in warm water after use. Soap and sex toy cleaner can be used as well. Do not boil or put in the dishwasher. This is electronics after all.
Overall

This is a quality toy that help produce sensations unlike any other sex toy on the market at the moment. Deep rumbly vibrations feels intense although takes some time to make me climax, not my go to toy for this reason. Fiddly touch controls and some fluid containment issues becomes somewhat of an annoyance, but no biggie. Since it is really unique and does what it is supposed to – I would recommend it. If you can grab it at a discounted price, then go for it!
