Shunga Massage Candle Review

The Shunga Massage Candle is a relaxing, sensual and aromatic candle.

It comes a black tin with a Geisha ‘entertaining’ a male client, pictured on the front of the tin. On the sides of the tin, you are given a caution about not leaving a flame unattended and also how to use this candle.

Inside the tin, you are supplied with a small plastic spoon, which is to be used to scoop up the melted wax oil.

I have been asked to review the vanilla scent (Desire) and Exotic fruits (Libido).

To use, let the candle burn for 20 minutes, during this time the candle’s scent will fill the room. Once the candle has melted into an oil like texture, you can either use the provided spoon to scoop and pour the wax over you partner, or you can pour the wax into the palm of your hand. Don’t worry, the wax is warm but it won’t burn you.

I found that using the spoon was fun, as you could slowly drip the heated oil/wax over his back and watch him gently tense up. When pouring into the palm of my hand, the wax/oil felt very greasy, it was easier to use this method, if you just want to place a load on the back, so that you can massage straight away.

The waxy oil left a greasy coating over my hands, I would advise that you place your ‘subject’ onto a towel, as it can get a little bit messy!

Once the candle has been extinguished, it will take about 10 minutes to harden. You can then replace the tin lid and store the candle in a safe place. I did find that after using the candle, the wax feels like an oily soap, which you can run your fingers over and use as a massage oil in that way.

These candles retail with Bondara at £12.99, which I feel is a good price, I wouldn’t want to pay any more than that though.

The Desire candle, which is the Vanilla scent is very relaxing but I found that this scent did start to become a little overwhelming for my taste The Libido candle is sweet, a sexual adventure for my imagination. To me it felt like it was kick starting my lady senses, the smell of this candle was a lot better for my taste.

All in all, these candles are good for a romantic night between you and your partner, I would say that you need one of this in your bedroom kit!
