Keepburning B12 Silicone Lube Review

More lube! This time a silicone type from Keepburning. I have always been a bit hesitant to recommend silicone lubes because of their limitations and feel, but this might be an exception.

Keepburning is a brand well-known for their awesome silicone toys but they should also be known for their quality lubricant as well. This is their B12 Energy Silicone Lube.

It comes in different sizes: 75ml, 250ml, 500ml and whopping 2 liters. They all come in these sporty looking.. bags actually. The larger sizes has easy pull caps like you get on water bottles and sports drinks. The small 75ml is the only one with a screw on cap. It works just fine, but is a bit fiddly. The caps are also sealed to prevent tampering. I did experience it leak a bit while lying down.

The design is pretty sweet. It is a bit techy looking with those chemistry illustrations. Nowhere on the packaging it stated that it is personal lubricant. It only lets you know it is silicone with added vitamins. On the back it elaborates in a bit more detail.

The lube itself is free of parabens, glycerin, fats/oils and perfume. This makes it hypoallergenic and skin friendly. It is safe for use with latex, rubber, leather and silicone toys and gadgets.

With this being silicone with no added water, it is not absorbed quickly by the skin and it lasts for a VERY long time. Silicone lubes are unmatched on longevity. But that does not help if the texture and feel isn’t great as well. The reason I have been hesitant to recommend silicone lubes is because most of my experience with them hasn’t been that great. They all tend to feel thick and a bit grainy. Also they end up coating the skin in a thick layer so that no texture is felt at all. At least that is my impression.

Luckily this lubricant is different. It is just as runny as many of its water based counterparts. Super runny in fact (beware when opening and pouring). Because of this it works with the texture of the skin while making everything super slippery. This is a feeling I prefer. It does feel more natural. It does not smell or taste anything either, so you will never be disturbed by this.

You can use it for masturbation, sexual penetration in and out of the shower as well as with your toys. I know silicone lube with silicone toys may be a hit or miss may react to each other. I have never had any problem with pairing this with Tantus, Keepburning and Fun Factory silicone toys. And this is the only way to enjoy toys in the shower or bath. High quality pure silicone toys should not have any problems with high quality silicone lube.

Below is the short ingredient list, so you can see for your self. It follows FDA and EEC regulations to classify as a Cosmetic Grade Fluid. And has a shelf life of 3 months after being opened.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Cyclomethicone, Vitamin A, B12, C and E.

Similar to the Pjur Man Basic Waterglide and Fleshlube Water (both water based), B12 is also a slick, runny and almost watery feeling lubricant. But the difference being that the B12 lube can actually be used with insertable toys, in other words it spreads well. It works especially well with penetration with a partner. It provides an almost naked feeling, and it enhances the skins natural texture. This means you will feel some texture while things are super slippery. I would not recommend using this with masturbators made of anything other than silicone (or metal/glass/plastic), as the sensitive polymer materials these are made of will most likely deteriorate with silicone lube. I mean, they don’t even like soap to begin with so you wont get it clean either.

It does work well with silicone sex toys. It spreads out nice and evenly. This makes anal insertion smooth as can be. Most silicone toys do have a lot of drag to them, but this eliminates the problem altogether.

The only drawback as with any silicone lube is the cleaning up process. It must be washed away with soap and warm water. Without this you’ll have a hard time getting rid of the slipperiness. Also it has a slightly short shelf life after opening, 3 months. Probably because of the added vitamins? I don’t know, but good luck getting through two liters in that time!
